London’s leading property developer Galliard Homes has ventured into the retirement homes sector unveiling plans for a £40m retirement village in Lower Shiplake, Oxfordshire its first development with Probitas Developments and contractors O’Shea. The partners plan to develop further retirement villages in sought after locations in outer London and Southern England.
Located just two miles from Henley-on-Thames, off the A4155 Henley-on-Thames to Reading road, the new £40m, six-acre development designed by Nick Baker Architects promises to deliver a community of 65 new homes for assisted living post-retirement comprising of one and two-bedroom apartments, cottages and penthouse style homes. The village will will also include a village clubhouse with a bistro, bar, gym/fitness suite and care services for the elderly residents.
Construction work is set to commence on the retirement village in Lower Shiplake later this year with the first properties being available to purchase in 2022.
